If you are going to a design school in Singapore, make sure to measure twice and cut once so your garment will not be too big or too little. In my case, doing this technique has helped me make a garment that fits exactly to the wearer’s body proportion.
2. Fabric Scissors
Instead of using regular scissors, you should invest in fabric scissors so you can cut through all kinds of fabric materials. Remember to use this with caution because it can be very sharp. Otherwise, you might injure yourself in the process.
The difference between a regular one and a fabric scissor is that the latter is much sharper. You can use a fabric scissor for various tasks like removing excess edges or cutting new parts of a garment.
3. Washable Chalk
To guarantee you will cut the fabric materials straight, you need to use washable chalk. You can outline the parts of a garment that you need to cut with this, which helps you make the most out of the fabric materials and not waste anything.
